Robo-robo is one of the culture events in Mempawah, West Kalimantan. It is held to remember the arrival of Opu Daeng Manambon from Matan Kingdom, Martapura, to Mempawah Kingdom at 1773 M / 1148 H.

On the first, Robo-robo it self was the arrival of Opu Daeng Manambon and the troops with Putri Kesumba. When they came to Muara Kuala Mempawah, the troops was being accepted well by the citizen. Because the arrival was exactly with the last sunday in Bulan Syafar, the troops visited the citizen. And Opu Daeng Manambon and also the people prayed to God to make them stay away from disasters. That was the first of Robo-robo being held.

After that, because it is held every last Wednesday (in Bahasa 'Rabu') of Syafar, so that this event is named Robo-robo.

For Bugisnese in West Kalimantan, Robo-robo usually celebrated by eating together with their family at the house yard, and also do by the students from Elementary to High School on Wednesday. Another interesting thing in Robo-robo is the traditional food from that region is served, that maybe not popular anymore.

In the end of the events, to make it more happen, usually there are so many entertainments just like tundang (pantun berdendang) and perahu bidar competition.
