Debate

Hello Fellas. On my phone it's 2.32 am. It's late right? Well,actually I have to sleep because of my condition. I got typhus. So I have to take a rest. BUT, the fact is I AM already sleep. BUT I AM awake. Than can not back to sleep. How poor I am. Than, I am thinking, that I haven't post something on my blog since the last assignment that my teacher give. So I decide to post something on my blog. And the topic is about the title. Debate.

According to the Wikipedia, Debate or debating is a formal method of interactive and representational argument. In Indonesia, we know that there are 3 debating style. Which are : Asian Parliamentary, British Parliamentary, and Australian Parliamentary. In Indonesia, we often use the first system, Asian Parliamentary. But sometimes, we do another. In Asian Parliamentary system, consist of 2 teams, Affirmative site, and Negative site. And 1 team consist of 3 person. Which representative the first, second, and third speaker. The speakers, have their own duty. For the first Affirmative, they have to give the definition of the motion, their teamline, their teamsplit and their major arguments. And for the first negative, actually they have the same duty, but for the first, they have to respond the definition that given by the first affirmative, and give the rebuttals to the first arguments. And the second affirmative, do some rebuttals, and give the arguments to strengthen their teamline. And for the third, give the rebuttals, and rebuild their own team arguments to make it strength.

Commonly, each speaker are given 5 - 7 minutes to deliver their speech. The adjudicators, give their score according the tabulation sheet . It's according to speakers matter, manner and method. When debating, there are Chairperson who lead the debate, and also timekeeper. When it's already 1 minute, the timekeeper will knock once, means the POI can be deliver. When 1 minute before the 5 or 7 minutes, timekeeper will knock once, means the POI is over, cannot be deliver. And when 5 or 7 minutes, the timekeeper will knock twice. And continuously after 20 seconds, means other explanation will be ignored.

After the debate, sometimes the Adjudicators will give the verbal adjudication. And after the verbal adjudication, the chairperson will announce the winner and the margin point.
